SELECTED PROJECTS
A selection of designs by Mark Zimmerman, on Quadra Island and further afield.
West Road Residence - Quadra Island
This recently finished modern west coast home is already looking very settled into its site. It's hard to miss this one when on Quadra. This home has wonderful views of Gowlland Harbour and the mountains to the west on Vancouver Island. A satisfying mix of cedar - both stained and natural - with galvalume and natural Douglas fir, nestled in to the hill with lots of local boulders for support.

A secluded space sets up this studio for introspective activities. Looking south from the expansive work area, one feels like they are looking out from a tree-house into the woods.

Commercial Addition - Golden, BC
An addition provided some much-needed extra office space, as well as an enhanced entry and reception area for a busy dental office. The entry utilized two naturally curved timber beams, supported on posts with subtle relief carvings by a local artist. The office wing was designed to harmonize with the original building, with the addition of extensive stonework on the exterior.
